Okskaya Sudoverf Shipyard launches 6th serial barge of Project ROB20

Okskaya Sudoverf Shipyard (Shipyard OKA, part of UCL Holding) on August 15, 2018 hosted a launching ceremony for sixth non-self propelled oil barge m/v BELMAX 6 of Project ROB20. The serial barges are being built for State Transport Leasing Company (STLC), the shipbuilding firm said on Thursday.

The contract for Project ROB20 oil barges was signed on October 31, 2017. Keel-laying ceremony for the BELMAX class sixth vessel was held on March 29, 2018.

The shallow-draft double hull oil barge design was developed by Marine Engineering Bureau.

The vessels are intended for transportation of petroleum products, primarily fuel oil, with a flashpoint of 61º C and above and feature enhanced environmental friendliness. The barges will be operated by Belmax Shipping Company on the Belaya, Kama and Volga rivers.

Ship's class notation: O 2.0 non-self-propelled liquid bulk carrier.

The contract for construction of a series of barges was signed on 31 October 2017. The fifth barge was laid down on 26 March 2018.
