The COP28 climate summit should find “realistic approaches” to reducing emissions that need to involve all “energies” and technologies, OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais said on Saturday in comments read out by an official.
“Ultimately this all-energy, all-people and all-technologies approach needs to be in adherence to the principles of equity and differentiated responsibilities,” the official said on Al Ghais’ behalf.
“We need realistic approaches to tackle emissions – one that enables economic growth, helps eradicate poverty and increases resilience at the same time.”
