The new natural gas bunkering vessel designed by SENER attracts great interest at ITS

Saturday, 18 June 2016 | 00:00

The SENER engineering and technology group took part in the latest edition of ITS, the International Tug, Salvage & OSV Convention and Exhibition (ITS), held in Boston on May 23 and 27. For several years now, SENER has been attending this biennial event with its own stand, run by SENER's very own Juan García de la Vega, business development manager, and Verónica Alonso, North America area manager.

A large number of shipowners and companies from the marine sector were interested in SENER’s experience in the design of tugboats and offshore vessels, an area in which SENER also offers advanced solutions such as the development of natural-gas-powered vessels and its own design of a natural gas bunkering vessel. These developments, which feature a significant innovative component, place SENER at the forefront of engineering in this segment.

For its designs, SENER uses FORAN, its own CAD/CAM shipbuilding system, which is currently attracting major interest in the US, where it has already been implemented in leading shipyards.

Lastly, SENER is working intensively in North America, where it offers innovative solutions that can meet the new demands of the naval and commercial shipbuilding sector. With over 60 years of experience in marine engineering and design, SENER has become one of the leading companies in the design of vessels with added value.
