In December 2021, the Maritime Silk Road Trade Index (STI) released by the Ningbo Shipping Exchange showed that the import and export trade index was 205.12 points,up 1.24% from the previous month and up 20.77% year-on-year; the export trade index was 236.07 points,up 4.60% from the previous month,an increase of 20.78% year-on-year;the import trade index was 173.61 points,down 3.06% month-on-month and up 20.75% year-on-year.
From January to December, China total import and export trade value was US$6047.1 billion,a year-on-year increase of 29.8%.The total export trade value was US$3368.2 billion,a year-on-year increase of29.0%;the total import trade value was US$2678.9 billion,a year-on-year increase of 30.0%.
China’s trade with continents
From January to December, the import and export trade value between China and Asia was US$3,064.5 billion, up 27.9% year-on-year, accounting for 50.7% of China’s total import and export value. The export trade value was 1,580.4 billion U.S. dollars, up 27.8% year-on-year; the import trade value was 1,484.1 billion U.S. dollars, up 27.9% year-on-year.
From January to December, the import and export trade value between China and Europe was US$1,177.8 billion, up 29.5% year-on-year, accounting for 19.5% of China’s total import and export value. The export trade value was 701.4 billion U.S. dollars, up 30.5% year-on-year; the import trade value was 476.4 billion U.S. dollars, up 28.0% year-on-year.
From January to December, the import and export trade value between China and Africa was US$253.0 billion, up 35.1% year-on-year, accounting for 4.2% of China’s total import and export value. The export trade value was 148.4 billion U.S. dollars, up 29.7% year-on-year; the import trade value was 104.6 billion U.S. dollars, up 43.6% year-on-year.
From January to December, the import and export trade value between China and North America was US$838.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 28.7%, accounting for 13.9% of China’s total import and export value. The export trade value was 628.3 billion U.S. dollars, up 27.1% year-on-year; the import trade value was 209.9 billion U.S. dollars, up 33.5% year-on-year.
From January to December, the import and export trade value between China and Latin America was US$448.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 41.5%, accounting for 7.4% of China’s total import and export value. The export trade value was 229.1 billion U.S. dollars, up 51.9% year-on-year; the import trade value was 219.1 billion U.S. dollars, up 32.0% year-on-year.
From January to December, the import and export trade value between China and Oceania was US$263.4 billion, up 34.8% year-on-year, accounting for 4.4% of China’s total import and export value. The export trade value was 80.7 billion U.S. dollars, up 24.5% year-on-year; the import trade value was 182.7 billion U.S. dollars, up 39.8% year-on-year.
