Global Fuel Supply (GFS) has launched Blue Energy Partners with a new office in Oslo, marking a new phase in the company’s journey: one where growth and sustainability go hand in hand. Blue Energy Partners will guide its partners through the green transition, helping them turn compliance challenges into opportunities for growth and resilience.
To lead this new direction, GFS announces the appointment of Trine Braathen as Director of Environmental Trading. With more than a decade of expertise in carbon and renewable markets, Trine has worked globally with shipping, aviation, and industrial customers. She will lead the environmental trading activities, including EU ETS trading, EUA transactions, and tailored advisory services, focusing on developing solutions that support both maritime customers and new client segments.
“I’ve always believed there’s more we can do and more we can optimize, to safeguard customers’ margins against the risks brought on by the energy transition. Environmental trading is, at its core, about the people you meet, the trust you earn, and the depth of market expertise you bring to the table. I’m truly honoured and excited to step into the role of Director of Environmental Trading. With the professional and dedicated team at Blue Energy Partners by my side, I’m confident we’ll build, brick by brick, on the opportunities ahead.” said Trine Braathen, Director, Environmental Trading. In addition to Trine’s appointment, Blue Energy Partners has further strengthened its team with Camilla Marie Christensen as Trading Director, Andreas Nektheden Johansen as Senior Energy
Supplier, and Victoria Elsie Nektheden Johansen as Supply Specialist. These additions reflect the company’s commitment to building a strong, specialized team to deliver both traditional energy supply and new environmental trading solutions.
Unlike traditional suppliers, Blue Energy Partners has the mandate to serve not only maritime customers but also airlines and industrial clients seeking environmental trading solutions. While the maritime segment remains at the core of Blue Energy Partners’ strategy, this broader reach provides flexibility and new opportunities for growth.
“We are here to raise the bar and help push the industry towards a greener future, and give shipowners and operators the tools, the data, and the insights they need to stay ahead of regulation, manage risks and unlock more value in the green transition.” said Bijan Shahbaz, Chief Operating Officer.
