Shares in CMB.Tech CMBT fall 2% after the Belgian oil tanker company shared a cautious outlook on its main segment and said it faced shareholders opposition to the terms of its latest acquisition
Along its H1 results, the group pointed to the risk rising from weaker crude demand from China and a potential strategy shift from the OPEC+ in reaction to an anticipated oil market oversupply
The group also said it would address appraisal claims filed by former Golden Ocean shareholders who dispute the fair value offered in the merger closed on August 20
The shares slip is mostly linked to CMB’s cautious outlook on the crude tanker market in the near to medium term, as well as comments on shareholders activity creating uncertainty, said Kepler Cheuvreux analyst Axdel Styrman
Including today’s fall the stock has dropped by 29.36 % YTD
