BP BP.L produced 11.1 million metric tons of oil in Azerbaijan between January and August, the country’s energy ministry said on Tuesday.
Oil production at the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields operated by BP BP.L fell to 11.1 million metric tons from 12.1 million tons in the same period last year, the ministry said.
Azerbaijan’s oil production has been declining as output at its offshore oilfields has passed its peak.
BP gas production at the Shah Deniz field increased to 18.1 billion cubic metres (bcm) over the January to August period, from 17.6 bcm a year earlier.
Production of associated petroleum gas, a by-product of oil production, at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field increased to 8.7 bcm in the first eight months of the year, from 8.6 bcm in the same period of 2023.
