The floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Exemplar, chartered by Finland to help replace Russian gas, arrived at Inkoo port west of Helsinki on Wednesday, Gasgrid Finland said.
Finland chartered the vessel to replace supplies it earlier imported from Russia, while it also managed to cut its August-November gas consumption by more than 50% in comparison with previous years.
The decline in Finnish gas consumption was the biggest percentage drop among European Union countries, Eurostat data showed.
The Exemplar, which arrived fully loaded, has the capacity to store 150,900 cubic metres of liquefied natural gas (LNG), according to owners Excelerate Energy.
Gasgrid plans to receive up to three LNG cargos per month for regasification by the FSRU.
