South Korea’s Korea Midland Power Co (KOMIPO) is seeking a total of 78 liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes for delivery between 2027 to 2041 on a delivered ex-ship (DES) basis, the utility said in a tender document on its website.
“KOMIPO intends to procure LNG to meet its anticipated demand of KOMIPO Power Plants from 2027 onward,” the document said, adding the utility’s projected LNG demand from 2027 onward was between 1 million and 2 million metric tons per year.
According to the tender document dated Wednesday, the utility is seeking six cargoes per year from 2027 to 2035, with one cargo to be delivered every two months.
From 2036 to 2041, KOMIPO is seeking four cargoes per year to be delivered “evenly” throughout the year, with at least one to be shipped in January, February or December.
The tender closes on Nov. 8.
