Maritime technology company ZeroNorth has appointed Kåre Kjelstrøm as Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO), effective 1 July. Kjelstrøm, a prominent profile in the Nordic tech scene, brings extensive leadership experience from companies like Uber, Lunar, and Concordium, where he built and scaled digital platforms that redefined industries.
Kjelstrøm joins ZeroNorth at a time when the shipping industry increasingly depends on data and technology to tackle the challenges of the energy transition. He will lead the company's product and technology strategy, focusing on advancing the next wave of innovation – including generative AI and maritime autonomy.

“Shipping is one of the world's most operationally complex and still under-digitised industries,” says Kjelstrøm. “AI has the potential to fundamentally change how decisions are made — not just to boost efficiency, but to simplify workflows, connect fragmented systems, and unlock entirely new opportunities. ZeroNorth already has some incredible products. My focus will be on unifying our robust end-to-end platform so that we can scale it to the next level. It's a unique opportunity to drive both business and societal impact — and I'm excited to be a part of that.”

With this appointment, ZeroNorth has secured one of the most prominent figures in the Danish tech community, bringing in first-hand experience building and scaling platforms for other high-growth, industry-defining tech companies.

Commenting on the appointment, Søren C. Meyer, CEO of ZeroNorth, says: “Bringing Kåre on board is a decisive, strategic move. Following our rapid growth and six acquisitions, unifying our platform is vital for accelerating the next wave of maritime innovation. Kåre's exceptional track record in scaling technology is exactly what we need to pioneer new frontiers, from generative AI to maritime autonomy, and accelerate the energy transition through data and technology.”
