Azerbaijan’s oil output fell by 5.5% to 6.9 million tonnes in January-March from 7.3 million tonnes a year earlier, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said on Monday.
Oil exports for the first three months of the year dropped to 5.7 million tonnes from 6.0 million tonnes.
Oil production in the South Caucasus country has been declining since hitting a peak in 2010.
Gas exports to Europe fell to 3.0 billion cubic metres from 3.2 bcm a year earlier, the minister said. Overall gas exports declined to 6.0 bcm from 6.4 bcm.
Gas exports to Turkey remained unchanged at 2.3 bcm, while exports to Georgia fell to 0.7 bcm from 0.9 bcm. Gas exports to Turkey via the TANAP pipeline rose to 1.4 bcm from 1.3 bcm.
