The American Petroleum Institute (API) reported on Tuesday a decrease of 0.817 million barrels of crude oil in U.S. inventories for the week ending Nov. 24.
Analysts are expecting a drop of 2 million barrels for this week.
The API reported a hike of 9.047 million barrels in the previous week.
Oil prices climbed on Tuesday.
The West Texas Intermediate for January delivery went up 1.55 U.S. dollars, or 2.07 percent, to settle at 76.41 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude for January delivery increased 1.70 dollars, or 2.13 percent, to settle at 81.68 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
