IAPH is pleased to announce the incorporation of Vineta Rudzīte as legal counsellor to IAPH. Vineta is the legal and administrative assistant to the CEO of The Freeport of Riga Authority and steps into the role vacated by her former colleague and Deputy CEO Mārtiņš Ziemanis, who has now been appointed as Managing Director of Stena Line Ports Ventspils AS and who was IAPH’s legal counsellor since May 2019.
Vineta Rudzīte holds a master’s degree in social sciences in Law from the Faculty of Law at the University of Latvia. She has extensive experience in the transport industry, having worked at the State Joint Stock Company Latvian Railways for nine years, including in the role of Deputy Director of the Legal Department.
Her legal expertise extends to previous roles at Lattelecom and Latvian Shipping Company, as well as administrative experience at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia. Since 2021, she has been working at the Freeport of Riga Authority, where her responsibilities include providing legal and administrative support to the CEO, risk management, and the implementation of ISO standards. IAPH Managing Director Patrick Verhoeven commented: “we are very thankful for Mārtiņš’ contribution to IAPH over the last six years of tenure and wish him well in his new role in shipping. We welcome Vineta to the IAPH Council and look forward to her advice and support as the association’s legal counsellor.”
