Kazakhstan may boost oil exports to Germany – minister

Saturday, 28 October 2023 | 00:00

Kazakhstan may increase oil exports to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline to 2 million metric tons a year, Kazakh energy minister Almasadam Satkaliyev told reporters on Friday, without giving a time frame.

Satkaliyev said talks on additional supplies started after President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited Germany last month, and the details of such shipments had yet to be agreed.

This year, the Central Asian country requested 1.2 million tonnes of capacity on the Druzhba pipeline to facilitate extra oil shipments to Germany’s Schwedt refinery.

Russia’s TASS news agency quoted Druzhba operator Transneft as saying it hadnot received any requests from Kazakhstan for additional transit volumes.
