Kuwait plans to export its first oil product cargo by mid-November from the recently commissioned Al Zour refinery, the country’s biggest, two sources close to the matter told Reuters.

The 40,000 tonne naphtha cargo will head to Asia, one of the sources said.

Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Co (KIPIC), which manages the 615,000 barrel per day plant, on Sunday said the first phase of Al-Zour refinery has started commercial operations.

Kuwait Petroleum Corp and KIPIC did not immediately respond to requests for comments.
