KNOC Introduces 360,000 Barrels of UAE Crude Oil into Korea

Friday, 14 October 2022 | 00:00

Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC) announced on Oct. 12 that it has finished unloading 362,000 barrels of crude oil produced in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Ulsan, Korea in September.

The crude oil shipped this time is Murban crude produced in the UAE’s Haliba Block in which its subsidiary KADOC owns a 40 percent stake. It was shipped at Jebel Dhanna Port of the UAE on Sept. 10 and arrived at SK Energy Ulsan Complex on Oct. 6.

The crude oil, which the Korea National Oil Corporation sold to SK Energy through the Singapore spot market, was shipped from the UAE by the latter.

The crude oil will go through a refining process after the completion of the unloading operation and be distributed to the Korean market.
