Vietnam’s Nghi Son Refining & Petrochemical (NSRP) is offering spot prompt 500ppm sulphur gasoil for the second time in a month, a document on the company’s website showed, with some trade sources attributing the sale to slow domestic demand.
The private refiner is looking to sell 40,000 kilolitres (251,592 barrels) of the transport and industrial fuel loading on March 24-31.
The tender closes on March 13, but there were no details on validity dates.
The result for NSRP’s earlier sales tender for the February cargo could not be determined.
Local demand remains lower-than-expected, though the situation has improved from a month earlier, one Vietnam-based trade source said, adding that there should be hopefully firmer demand in April.
The country’s other fuel major, Petrolimex, bought around 11,000 metric tons of 10ppm sulphur gasoil and 35,000 tons of 500 ppm sulphur gasoil two weeks earlier, which some regional traders said is slightly lower than usual.
