ePropulsion, a global leader and market challenger in marine electric propulsion systems and services, has been announced as the Official Innovation Partner of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) for 2023-2027.

In a special unveiling event at the Southampton International Boat Show on Friday 15th September, a four-year partnership between the electric propulsion innovators and the RYA was announced. This will see ePropulsion and the RYA partner on a number of collaborative initiatives.

ePropulsion will be the official event partner and sponsor of the RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show, the UK’s must-see sailing and watersports event, as well as the show’s official electric outboard supplier for small craft.

Across the RYA’s annual conferences, ePropulsion will showcase its sustainable technologies and innovations to boating enthusiasts. For 2024, ePropulsion will support the RYA Green Club of the Year Award, with an ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 Evo Unit provided as a prize for the winning club.

The partnership’s unveiling event at Southampton International Boat Show saw leading figures in the marine industry gather to hear about the advantages of electric boating that go beyond the environmental benefits and discover the ePropulsion Spirit Series electric outboard, which is displayed on the RYA stand (J120).

Steve Bruce, Global OEM Sales Director of ePropulsion, commented: “It’s a proud moment for ePropulsion to be named an Official Innovation Partner of the RYA. By focusing on electric engine solutions, we’re taking a massive leap forward in mitigating the negative environmental effects of conventional boating.

“Our partnership with the RYA marks a pivotal shift towards sustainability in the maritime sector. We’ll be working hand-in-hand to introduce cutting-edge electric engine technologies that are not just efficient, but eco-friendly. This four-year journey promises to set a new course for environmentally responsible boating.”

Sara Sutcliffe, CEO of the Royal Yachting Association, said: “Through this new four-year partnership, we’re looking forward to working together to test, develop and evolve electronic marine propulsion into the future.”

The RYA is the national representative organisation for recreational and competitive boating in the UK and is the National Governing Body for sailing.
