Konecranes has delivered and commissioned a 1-ton Manual Portal A-frame Crane for Royal Selangor International Sdn Bhd, a renowned pewter manufacturer based in Malaysia. Installed in May 2025, the crane supports key parts of Royal Selangor's production process, helping improve ergonomics and efficiency in their handcrafted manufacturing operations.
The crane features a robust A-frame portal structure with an 8-inch swivel castor wheel equipped with a brake, allowing for smooth, manual movement within the workspace. It is used to lift molten pewter from the melting station and transfer it to the molding machine, supporting safe and precise handling of heavy materials in a high-temperature environment.
Royal Selangor uses the crane to reduce the physical strain associated with lifting and transporting pewter during production. This enables their craftspeople to focus more on the intricate hand-finishing that that has defined the company's products for 140 years.

“Konecranes provided Royal Selangor with an ergonomic lifting solution that met their specific material handling needs, improving production flow, reducing physical strain on employees and enhancing workplace safety. Our ability to deliver a reliable, ergonomic solution tailored to their handcrafted production environment made us the right partner to support their commitment to quality and precision,” said Wilson Lim, Sales Manager at Konecranes.
A strong focus on customers, commitment to business growth, and continuous improvement make Konecranes a material handling industry leader. This is underpinned by investments in digitalization and technology, as well as efforts to make material flows more efficient with solutions that decarbonize the economy and advance circularity and safety.
