The Russian government has decided to ban gasoline exports in September and October 2024, Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin said on Wednesday, the state-run news agency TASS reported.
Russia’s gasoline stocks in 2024 are 1% higher than last year’s level, Sorokin was cited as saying, adding that gasoline exports in July 2024 were down 33%.
Oil refining in Russia in 2024 grew by 4% against last year’s level, Sorokin was quoted as saying.
Russia does not need to impose an export ban on diesel, whose production is expected to increase to 15-20 million metric tonnes by 2028-2030, Sorokin said.
