Rosneft to divert 100,000 T of fuel oil to Black Sea’s Tuapse – sources

Tuesday, 30 January 2024 | 21:00

Russia’s largest oil producer Rosneft ROSN.MM plans to redirect around 100,000 metric tons of fuel oil from its Achinsk refinery in Siberia to the Black Sea port of Tuapse, two industry sources told Reuters on Tuesday.

The move follows last-week fire at the export-oriented Tuapse oil refinery. A Ukrainian source said on Thursday that Ukrainian drones attacked the oil refinery on the shores of the Black Sea in the latest such strike on Russian energy infrastructure.

Rosneft has typically exported fuel from Achinsk via the Black Sea port of Taman and Pacific port of Nakhodka.

Rosneft has not responded to a request for comment.

Sources said that the oil was re-routed to use freed capacity of Tuapse terminal.

Traders also said that Rosneft plans to export around 144,000 tons of fuel oil from its Novokuibyshevsk refinery via Tuapse next month.

For January, the exports plan for Tuapse terminal had initially stood at 1.086 million tons of fuel, of which around 680,000 tons were supposed to be shipped from Tuapse oil refinery.
