Gibraltar bunker demand rose 2% on the year in July

Gibraltar recorded 405 bunker calls in July, an increase of 2% from a year ago, Gibraltar Port Authority (GPA) figures show.

However, Gibraltar bunker calls in July were at their lowest level since February this year. The number of ships calling to bunker in July dropped by 1% from the preceding month.

The port received 2,709 bunker calls in the first seven months of this year, down 3% from the same period last year.

Port calls from cruise ships were also down in July, with eight passenger liners arriving at Gibraltar, compared to 10 in the same month last year.

A total of 80 cruise ships called at Gibraltar during the first seven months of this year, compared to 89 in the same period a year ago. A total of 177 cruise vessels called the port in 2022.

The port authority does not publish data on bunker sales volumes.
