Daily Bunker Fuel and Oil Report

Wednesday, 18 September 2013 | 13:20
A bunker fuel and oil report, detailing the day per day trading patterns and prices in the market. The report is prepared from OW Risk Management and covers all major bunker fuel oil markets around the world, including all major ports, ranging from Singapore to Rotterdam.

Market in Brief

Yesterday the sharp sell-off in Crude prices continued on pre-positioning before the Federal Reserve decision. News from Libya are fluctuating nearly every day with now the announcement that Oil production could  return to around 50% of the pre-strike levels by the end of the week. The FOMC meeting is likely to overshadow the impact of US Weekly Inventory stock report that will be released later today as well. The inventory expectations are as follows: Crude -1.39 mbbl, Distillates +0.79 mbbl, Gasoline +0.34 mbbl. The October WTI extended its loss by -$1.17 to close at $105.42/bbl and November Brent also settled lower at $108.19/bbl, down -$1.88. This morning, crude prices are trading slightly up.

  Fueloil Specifics

The Northwest European bunker fuel oil markets remained under pressure yesterday. 380cst product in Rotterdam and Antwerp was assessed some $3-4/mt lower vs previous days close. Delivered barge premiums remained relatively high supported by tight prompt product avails mainly caused by low refinery outputs due to maintenance. In Antwerp hsfo was offered from Friday while lsfo not before next week. The Singapore fuel oil markets fell yesterday on previous weaker crude prices, ranging -$3.0 to -$2.0 during the Asian Platts window. The delivered bunker premiums recovered slightly ranging between +$1.0 to +$2.0 above cargo prices. This morning both markets are trading slightly lower.
