Russia gas output dips due to warm weather, lower exports to EU, Russian daily Kommersant says

Wednesday, 26 February 2025 | 21:00

Russian gas production declined 3% last month, with the dip attributable to warm weather and lower exports to the European Union, the Moscow daily Kommersant reported.

Kommersant quoted sources familiar with Energy Ministry statistics as saying that gas production had slipped to 64.8 billion cubic metres.

Figures quoted by the daily showed producers including Gazprom with a 2.88% decline in production to 43.3 bcm, with their figures impacted by the cancellation of a gas transit agreement through Ukraine.

Independent producers, including large concerns Novatek and Rosneft, saw their production figures decline in line within the framework of production limitations imposed by Russia’s adherence to the OPEC+ agreement.
