Uzbekistan will increase imports of oil and oil products from Russia to more than 1 million tonnes in 2023, Uzbek Energy Minister Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov said Friday.
Last year’s imports were slightly less, he added.
In 2024, the volume of oil supplies from Russia will increase further because of economic growth, the minister said, without giving exact figures.
Uzbekistan and Russia signed an agreement on oil and oil product supplies that will ensure stable supplies, Mirzamakhmudov said.
