The event features a wide range of exciting activities, including a silent & live auction, dinner, music, and dancing, with all proceeds going towards Tampa Port Ministries and Tampa Bay Maritime Scholarship Foundation.Maritime transport is the backbone of international trade and the global economy. Both of the deserving charities help keep commerce flowing from ship to store. Learn more about the charities the Anchor Ball supports:

Tampa Port Ministries

Seafarers often face significant challenges while working on ships, including isolation, mental health issues, and limited access to essential services. Tampa Port Ministries provides for the physical, social, and spiritual needs of seafarers and others who use the facilities of the Port of Tampa.During the COVID 19 Pandemic, the Seafarers’ Center provided more than 2,000 vaccines to maritime workers from a variety of countries. The Seafarers’ Center is currently working with USF’s College of Nursing to create a first-of-its-kind health clinic on port property to serve the seafarers who visit our port.

Tampa Bay Maritime Scholarship Foundation

Maritime training prepares students for careers in this demanding industry. However, students pursuing maritime studies often encounter financial barriers that prevent them from accessing quality education and limiting their career prospects.

Tampa Bay Maritime Scholarship Foundation assists high achieving graduates of the Hillsborough County Maritime Technology Programs at Thomas Jefferson High School Magnet Honors Maritime Academy and other public institutions by providing meaningful scholarship support for post high school education leading to maritime careers.

This year’s Port Tampa Bay Anchor Ball takes place on Dec. 2, 2023 at TPepin’s Hospitality Centre and brings together individuals, organizations, and businesses in the maritime industry.
