Recently, the terminal received three recognitions that confirm the implementation of initiatives contributing to the reduction of emissions.
During the last weeks, San Antonio Terminal Internacional (STI) received the I-REC (International Renewable Energy Certificates) certification and two certifications from the Huella Chile program of the Ministry of the Environment: Emissions Reduction and the Seal of Excellence, the latter marking a milestone in the national port industry as the first port to obtain it.
The I-REC certification, issued by the International REC Standard, is a global standard for tracking, emissions, and trading of renewable energy, confirming that 100% of the electricity used in STI operations comes from renewable sources.

Meanwhile, the Huella Chile Emissions Reduction recognition highlights the annual reduction of 11 tons of CO2e thanks to the renovation of all lighting in the terminal’s administrative areas and warehouses. Additionally, STI became the first port in the country to receive the program’s Seal of Excellence, a recognition awarded to organizations that, within the same year, receive both the Measurement and Reduction seals and meet at least 4 out of 7 complementary attributes for carbon management, as defined by Huella Chile.
Andrés Albertini, General Manager of STI, emphasized that “environmental care at our terminal is essential. We are the country’s main port, and our operational standards are aligned with our environmental protection policies. In recent years, we have intensified our initiatives in this area, and these recognitions are the result of these efforts.”
