W. Africa Crude-Girassol offered in window, Unipec buys Nemba

Monday, 02 December 2024 | 01:00

Angolan crude gradesremained under pressure from ample supply on Fridaywith a cargo of Girassol being offered without finding a buyer, although Unipec was heard to have bought state oil firm Sonangol’s Nemba cargo this week.

Angolan Girassol was offered and withdrawn by Equinor for Jan. 20-21 at dated Brent plus $1.50 via the Platts window, steady from Thursday’s value, a source said.

Equinor showed the same cargo at a lower $1 premium to an Argus crude benchmark via the Argus system, the source said.

On other grades, Sonangol has sold its cargo of January-loading Nemba to Unipec, a trader said. The cargo was last offered at dated Brent minus $1.40.

Sonangol still has a Dalia cargo avilable, the trader said, which was last offered at dated minus 60 cents.

On Nigeriancrude, Bonny Light was thought by one trader to be worth less than its value earlier this week of aboutdated Brent plus $1.00, as an Indian Oil Corp buying tender that had supported demand was now closed.

Supply is ample for December and exports of four key Nigerian grades – Qua Iboe, Bonny, Bonga and Forcados – will reach 841,000 barrels per day (bpd) in January, preliminary programmes seen by Reuters on Tuesday showed, up from a combined 770,000 bpd scheduled to load in December.
