Bulgaria’s electricity production decreased by 18.6% year-on-year to 3,200 GWh in October, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Friday.

The country’s output of oil products increased sharply to 710,000 tonnes from 71,000 October 2021 when planned repairs of production installations were carried out, the statistical office said in a monthly report.

Deliveries of electricity slipped 9.6% on the year in the tenth month of the year and amounted to 2,488 GWh. Oil products deliveries, however, increased 8.1% compared to October 2021, reaching 388,000 tonnes.

Deliveries of natural gas to Bulgaria declined by an annual 40.6% in the review month and stood at 142 million cubic metres (mcm), which was 2.2% higher than in September.

In both monthly and annual terms, the largest increase was recorded in the deliveries of liquefied petroleum gases, by 9.5% and 24.3% respectively, to 46,000 tonnes.
