PTP Bags Supply Chain Award From Chartered Institute Of Procurement & Supply

Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a joint venture between Malaysian based MMC Group and Hague based APM Terminals has been named Procurement Team of The Year for Small Organization with a turnover of under £500 million at Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Asia Excellence in Procurement Award 2023.

The recognition was given to PTP after its procurement team made significant improvements to their performance and culture resulting in increased effectiveness, influence, efficiencies, savings, or competitive advantage.

In a statement released to media, PTP Chief Executive Officer, Marco Neelsen remarked that this latest achievement and various other accomplishments set by PTP over the years underlined the value the company provides towards its whole business and operation eco-system including its customers, business partners and all other stakeholders.

“PTP continuously reviews and refines its strategic direction and initiatives to ensure sustainable growth with implementation of various improvement strategy through Inventory Optimization, Digitization/Automation, Supply Diversification, Localization, Collaboration/Partnership, ESG program and others in our commitment to provide and improve service level for internal and external stakeholders. As such, this momentous achievement is a testament to their hard work and agility amidst the current challenging business environment of today.”

Jonathan Cheung FCIPS (Chartered), CIPS Development Advisor, ASEAN/Chair of the 2023 CIPS Excellence in Procurement Asia Awards congratulated PTP on winning the award after the panel judges of procurement leaders determined that PTP has exemplified best practice and demonstrated the highest standards of the profession.

Organised by Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and ProcureCon, the CIPS Asia Excellence in Procurement Award 2023 was held at Equarius Hotel, Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore.
