Kazakhstan’s daily oil and gas condensate output is set to rise by 6% in June versus May, the Energy Ministry told Reuters and data from the national statistics bureau showed.

Its output has frequently exceeded its quota set by the OPEC+ group of producers, drawing criticism from other members.

Kazakhstan’s average daily oil and gas condensate production in June is set to rise to 285,000 metric tons, or 2.140 million barrels per day, the ministry said.

Reuters uses a conversion factor of 7.5 barrels per ton.

Output stood at 269,000 tons in May, statistics bureau data showed.

“Average daily oil and gas condensate production for 10 days of June amounted to 285,000 tons,” the ministry said, adding it “will remain at the same level if no unforeseen matters arise”.

The ministry did not specify which oilfields were raising output.

The giant Tengiz oilfield was behind a rise in Kazakhstan’s production earlier this year.

Production at Tengiz increased to 118,100 tons, or 940,000 bpd, in the first 10 days of June, according to industry sources familiar with the data, versus 102,160 tons in May.

Tengizchevroil, operator of the field, does not comment on its activities.

In May, Kazakh Deputy Energy Minister Alibek Zhamauov said production at Tengiz had declined citing maintenance.

Kazakhstan aims to increase oil and gas condensate production in 2025 by almost 10%, to 96.2 million tons from 87.56 million in 2024.
