Kazakhstan’s Jan crude oil output up 0.5% m/m, above OPEC+ quota -sources

Production of crude oil in Kazakhstan edged up 0.5% in January from December to 6.7 million metric tons (1.578 million barrels per day), according to sources familiar with official data,and Reuters calculations, surpassing the country’s OPEC+ quota.

Its quota, agreed as part of the deal within the OPEC+ group of leading oil producers, stands at 1.468 million bpd for the first quarter.
The Energy Ministry did not immediately reply to a request for comment.

Production of crude oil and gas condensate, a type of light oil, which is not covered by the OPEC+ agreement, also rose last month by 0.5%, to 7.8 million tons.
