Russia plans to export 1.5 million metric tons of wheat to Morocco each year after signing a deal with Moroccan grain traders’ association (FNCL), the Russian Union of Grain Producers and Exporters said on Monday.
“Our target supply level for this season is about 1 million tons, and we plan to increase to 1.5 million tons per year in the future,” union leaderEduard Zernin said.
Moroccan traders expect the drought-hit country to import more wheat from Russia than France this season. The north African country already ranks as atop-10 buyer of Russian wheat.
