At PowerCell Group, we have a clear goal: to spread the word about renewable energy, show how it can transform industries and lives, and highlight the fantastic people behind this shift. Hydrogen, fuel cells, and next-generation technologies are no longer distant concepts. They are here, they work, and they are being deployed. We are proud to play our part in this transformation.
Yet, let’s be honest. Too much of the energy transition conversation is still just that, conversation… Many industries are waiting for the “perfect” solution, stuck in the realm of potential. But the future of energy is already here. It is time to act.
The maritime industry at a crossroads
Few sectors illustrate this better than the maritime industry. As one of the major contributors to global emissions, it now stands at a pivotal moment in the energy transition. Continue down the same path of pollution, or capture the potential of the energy transition’s technology shift?
For those wanting to lead the transition, we developed the Marine System 225, an advanced hydrogen-powered fuel cell designed to help maritime businesses reduce emissions, improve efficiency, and future-proof operations. This is not a concept or a promise, but proven technology in use today:
• Torghatten Nord is completing 2 × 6.3 MW systems for ferries in Northern Norway.
• The first M2Power250 methanol power plant of 2 MW was ordered in Q1 2025.
The timing could not be more urgent. The IMO’s tightening regulations will reshape the industry over the next decade, and forward-looking OEMs in cruise and commercial shipping are already acting. The ones that have the courage to pioneer, the clarity to invest to future-proof long-lasting assets based on realistic business cases, will gain not only a first mover advantage but also build valuable application knowledge as the industry inevitably changes.
Making renewable energy available to everyone, everywhere
This is our purpose. From maritime to aviation, power generation and beyond, we are working to make renewable energy available to everyone, everywhere. And the results are visible: since mid-2024, PowerCell has secured multiple OEM orders across industries, achieved record growth, and reached our first positive EBITDA. These milestones are not about short-term numbers, they are proof that hydrogen fuel cells are ready to scale and deliver as part of the broader technology shift in the energy transition.
A conversation we invite you into
Every major technology shift has followed a familiar pattern. In the early stages, the potential is often overestimated, leading to unrealistic expectations. The first wave of users and investors stumble, and the setbacks are magnified. But in the long run, the impact is always underestimated. Just as few could imagine high-speed internet, fiber or wireless when we were paying a fortune for dial-up modems, today it may feel hard to picture hydrogen fuel cells at scale. Until suddenly, it isn’t.
That is the stage we are entering now in the energy transition. The time for waiting has passed. The real work, and the real opportunities, lie in shaping the long-term impact together with those who dare to act.
We would like to hear your perspective, what ambitions, predictions, and questions do you see defining this transformation?
