Urals diffs steady in muted trade

Urals crude differentials to dated Brent were little changed on Friday, while Russia’s oil export plans for September may be revised following a drone attack on the Ryazan oil refinery, operated by the Rosneft oil company.

Ryazan has suspended operations at its major crude distillation unit CDU-6 due to a fire caused by a drone attack, two industry sources told Reuters on Friday.

India will continue to buy Russian oil as it proves economical, its finance minister said on Friday, despite the Trump administration’s decision to impose heavy import tariffs on Indian goods due, in part, to its energy purchases from Moscow.

The European Union is sticking to its plans to phase out Russian oil by 2028, the bloc’s energy chief told Reuters on Friday, adding that he had not faced pressure from Washington to bring forward the deadline.

Oil flows through the Druzhba pipeline to Germany’s PCK refinery are expected to return to normal by the end of this week following the repair of damages, Rosneft Germany, the refinery’s largest shareholder, said on Thursday.
