China’s exports of refined products, including diesel, gasoline, aviation fuel and marine fuel, fell 0.6% year-on-year to 5.34 million tons in June, according to the customs data, though the figure marked the highest monthly total since June 2024.
Diesel exports dropped sharply in June, down 59.4% year-on-year to 330,000 tons, a steep drop from levels seen in May. For the first six months of the year, diesel exports were down 46.8%.
Gasoline exports stood at 780,000 tons in June, down 16.7% year-on-year. During January and June, gasoline exports fell 21% to 3.89 million tons.
China’s exports of aviation fuel rose 6.1% year-on-year to 1.76 million tons in June. In the first six months of the year, China’s aviation fuel exports were up 3.1% at 9.95 million tons from last year.
The data also showed that imports of liquefied natural gas fell 4.5% year-on-year to 5.31 million tons in June. However, China’s June LNG imports rebounded in June compared with May, hitting the highest level since January.
