Russia’s idle primary oil refining capacity hits all-time high in April

Tuesday, 03 May 2022 | 16:00

Russia’s planned offline primary oil refining capacity for April has been revised up to 5.75 million tonnes, the highest level on record, Refinitiv data and Reuters calculations showed.

The revisions to April data resulted from several adjustments to maintenance plans for Russian refineries and shutdowns of crude distillation units at the Tuapse, Saratov and Ufa oil plants, the data showed.

Russia’s planned offline primary oil refining capacity for May is seen at 4.83 million tonnes, but may be revised up, according to market sources and Reuters calculations.
