For further enhancing the mutual benefits of both the Suez Canal Authority and its clients, as well as to promote transits via the Suez Canal, Suez Canal Authority decided that circular no. (1/2018) concerning “Oil tankers” (Ballast or Laden with Crude Oil), shall remain in force after being amended as follows:
Amending “Article One” of the circular to read the “Rebate Percentages” and “Ports Ranges” as follows:
1- Oil tankers” (Ballast or Laden with Crude Oil) operating between the US Gulf ports and the Caribbean on one side and the following areas at Asia on the other side, shall be granted rebates as follows:
a) Arabian Gulf and its eastern ports until before “Karachi, Pakistan”, shall be granted a rebate of 20% of Suez Canal normal tolls.
b) Ports West of the Indian subcontinent (starting from “Karachi, Pakistan” until Cochin at the west of India), shall be grant a rebate of 25% of Suez Canal normal tolls.
c) Ports located East of Cochin port shall be granted a rebate of 75% of Suez Canal normal tolls.
2- Oil tankers” (Ballast or Laden with Crude Oil) operating between “Latin America” ports starting from Colombia and its southern ports on one side and Asian ports (starting from Karachi, Pakistan and its eastern ports) on the other side, shall be granted a rebate of 75% of Suez Canal normal tolls.

Reduction for petroleum products tankers
For laden “Petroleum Products” tankers operating between the US Gulf ports and the Caribbean area on one side and the below areas of Asia on the other side, shall be granted the following rebate percentages:
1. Ports West of the Indian subcontinent (starting from “Karachi, Pakistan” until Cochin at the west of India), shall be granted a rebate of 20% of Suez Canal normal tolls.
2. Ports located East of “Cochin port” until before “Port Klang”, shall be granted a rebate of 60% of Suez Canal normal tolls.
3. “Port Klang” and its eastern ports (including Far East area), shall be granted a rebate of 75% of Suez Canal normal tolls.
