Urals crude oil differentials to dated Brent were unchanged on Friday, while India, the main buyer of the grade, increased purchases of Russian oil to a new record last month.

India’s oil imports from Russia rose to a record of about 2.1 million barrels per day (bpd) in May, according to trade sources and shipping data.

Russian gas giant Gazprom GAZP.MM, fresh from an annual loss of $7 billion, has increased its activity in the oil business to offset weaker natural gas trade over the past year, two sources familiar with the company’s trading said.

No bids or offers were made for Urals, CPC Blend and Azeri BTC crude in the Platts window on Friday.
