Quadrise announces appointment of Peter Borup as new CEO

Quadrise PLC (QED), a low emissions fuels and biofuel developer, has today announced the appointment of Peter Borup as Chief Executive Officer. Effective from 1st October 2025, Peter's appointment will drive commercialisation in the next stage of QED's growth.

Peter is an accomplished CEO with over 30 years' experience in the shipping industry. He began his career at A.P. Moller-Maersk in Copenhagen, before being appointed as General Manager for Maersk Broker in Korea and China (1992-2001). Later in his career, Peter moved into senior leadership roles at several major cargo shipping operators. These include positions as Senior Vice President and Managing Direct at D/S Norden, in Asia (2002-2013), after which Peter was appointed as President at Lauritzen Bulkers (2013-2018), before joining NORVIC Shipping International as CEO NORVIC Dry – Copenhagen and Dubai (2018-2021).

During his career, Peter has worked in key global shipping hubs, including Copenhagen, Seoul, Beijing, Singapore and Dubai, leading strategy, investment and shipping operations. Since 2020, Peter has contributed to the development of maritime technology and innovation, beyond his leadership roles in shipping, through his position on the investment committees of Rainmaking, Motion Ventures and The Shipping Collective, as well as serving as Acting Chairman of the board at AI start-up Shipster.ai.

Peter has degrees from IMD Business School (MBA), Wharton Business School's Advanced Management Program, Copenhagen Business School's Advanced Board Program, as well as being a Fulbright Scholar at Georgetown University in Asian Studies.
