Head of Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish asserted that nearly 97.2 per cent of dredging works have been finalized in the New Suez Canal project.
In an interview with Nile News Channel, Mamish said that the new project is a fully integrated one fitted with navigational signs, maps, electronic navigation devices and highly-trained guides to secure ships crossing the waterway.

The new Suez Canal will offer its service for all world countries, he added.

Logistic and security preparations were made for the inauguration of the new Suez Canal project in time, according to Mamish.

Mamish also hailed the Armed Forces Engineering Authority for wrapping up the dry digging operations in the new Suez Canal project.

He said dredging works in the canal project was the largest in the history.

Mamish said more than 260 million cubic meters of water-saturated sand have been dredged.

"This is a miracle," he said.
